NICA

The National Interscholastic Cycling Association is an American non-profit organization that promotes high school mountain biking programs in the United States. NICA provides governance, leadership, and program support to regional high school mountain biking organizations.

REGION COMP COACHING

Skilled and dedicated coaches are the most important aspect of Indiana Interscholastic Cycling League mountain bike teams.  An Indiana League coach puts the safety and overall well-being of their student-athletes as the first priority.  NICA-licensed coaches are role models and teachers who are open to learning the best practices of youth mountain bike coaching and actively working to hone their leadership skills.

NICA STUDENT ATHLETE

The Region Composite team welcomes riders in grades 6-12 (during to 2019-2020 school year) from Northwest Indiana to ride with the team. The team rides and races with the Indiana Interscholastic Cycling League (www.indianamtb.org) and is a program of NICA (www.nationalmtb.org). Our team philosophy is fun first and our central goal is for students to develop a strong body, mind and character through mountain biking. There are no tryouts. Everyone rides no matter his/her ability and skill level. Racing is optional and not required to join the team.
